How to Edit Sony HXR-MC1P Footage on FCP without Interlacing Issue?

Sometime ago, my friend came to me with his problem. He needed to edit some video footage from the new Sony HXR-MC1P, which is a tiny camera to record HD 1080i in AVCHD format.
